This is my first blog post. I’m kind of nervous that it won’t turn out to be very interesting. Oh well. Here it goes.

These last two weeks have been kinda crazy. I moved into my first real apartment and school has started in full swing. Like get-four-hours-of-sleep kind of swing (last night was not pleasant. Excuse my grouchiness.) Anyway, this year I have my own room and bathroom (!) which I was really excited about. Everything is all decorated, after many, many trips to seemingly every store in Charlottesville over the course of a week (I didn’t really buy that much. Honest. I just like to make informed purchasing decisions.)

Like I said, I’ve had class for a little over a week, and it’s already crazy. I had a model and a “manifesto” due today, neither of which were very much fun and both of which resulted in me getting about four hours of sleep. Yeah, not good.

My classes are fine. I wish that the curriculum was set up differently, because this year we only take architecture classes, which is a little much for me. I’m really missing my elective classes that I took first and second year. Plus, I essentially live in Campbell Hall. Since it’s about a twenty minute walk from my apartment, I basically stay at school from the morning until late afternoon. Let’s just say I’ve had better schedules.

One exciting note about architecture: this year we are taking a trip to NYC for our fall break. It should be a lot of fun. I think I’ll be really excited once we get our accommodations in order. I’ll post more about this later.

Despite the schoolwork and the errands, I’ve had a lot of fun catching up with my friends since returning to C’Ville. This has facilitated my re-acquaintance with several of my favorite food places (I’ve already eaten at the Tavern, Pita Pit, Take it Away, Arch’s, Raising Cane’s, and Lemongrass. I think that’s fairly impressive for 12 days.) I’ve also gotten to having out with my friends that I hadn’t seen all summer, which has been lots of fun.

I think its going to be a good year. If I can get some sleep. And fit some exercise into my schedule. But otherwise, good stuff so far. I’m going to go watch some TV now. Goodnight.
