Today was a long day. I’m talking four hour discussions about group work… yikes. I still wanted to do a Wedding Wednesday post, but I couldn’t think of anything to write about. Then I was struck with inspiration while checking the weather online and decided to look back on my inspiration folder and post about my favorite winter weddings and inspiration boards.
When Brian and I first got engaged, I never considered having a winter wedding. I guess it was because I’d always envisioned our wedding being outdoors, or at least partially outdoors, and within driving distance of home. Typically that would rule out a winter wedding. As I became more educated in the planning process, I realized that whether your wedding is outdoors or not, you will always have to plan for bad weather. This made having a winter wedding seem not as far out of the realm of possibility. As December approached, my favorite wedding bloggers began to feature beautiful winter weddings. Weddings that I could see myself planning. Here are a few of my favorites.
Weddings
Winter Wedding #1 Okay, so this isn’t a real wedding, but rather a photoshoot. Who cares. I would be more than happy to have this be my wedding. It’s vintage and shabby-chic, but glittery and fun at the same time. I adore the way they used all white holiday decor to make this wedding sparkle. I don’t consider myself to be a big glitter girl, but in winter time there is nothing prettier. I love the desserts. And how cute is that sparkly house in that hurricane?
Winter Wedding #2 This wedding attracted me for one main reason: the faux fur jacket from Anthropologie. I’m not usually that in to fur, but let’s face it, in this case the jacket makes the wedding. This wedding is classic and sophisticated. Why? It’s the jacket. It took me a while to realize this, but when you look closely, there aren’t really many other details. I think I am so taken with the jacket because it adds vintage glamour to the wedding, but most importantly, it makes your otherwise freezing wedding ensemble appropriate for wintertime. No long sleeves required. Genius.
Winter Wedding #3 I love the color scheme and the classic simplicity of this wedding. The only thing that I wouldn’t pick for my own wedding is the bridesmaids’ dresses. But otherwise, its pretty much perfect.
Inspiration Boards
These are pretty self-explanatory. What can I say? I like blue. And white. Lots of white.

Bottom line: I’m still not totally sold on the winter wedding, but it’s definitely a possibility. How could I rule it out after seeing these awesome possibilities? I guess some day I will have to rule stuff out, but for now, I’m operating under the assumption that anything can happen : )
oh i am in love with the wedding dress in wedding #1! also, i love reading your wedding posts!
