While I’m laying on my bed in a BBQ-chicken-induced coma, I thought I would make a list of my favorite TV shows of all time. Yes, I put them in alphabetical order because I’m too big of a wimp to order them 1 – 10. Or lazy. Let’s go with lazy.
THE TOP TEN
30 Rock (2006- ) Tina + Alec = AMAZING. I’ve abandoned this show this season. It makes me very sad. BUT I will hopefully get back on the wagon over the summer.
Arrested Development (2003-2006) This show is quirky and took some getting used to, but once I understood the characters I loveddd it. All the characters are great in their own way.
Friends (1994-2004) My roommate has all 10 season on DVD, and I killed them in two semesters. I think that’s pretty impressive, and speaks to the quality of the show because clearly I just couldn’t stop watching. It’s a classic show that has provided me many, many laughs so I thought it should be on the list.
Glee (2009- ) Definitely my favorite new show of the season. It makes me so happy, and has a very appropriate title. When it comes back on in April I will be uncontrollably excited. Prepare yourselves.
Lost (2004-2010) Oh, Lost. It’s complicated goodness floors me all the time. I saw the season premier of the second season on accident and was hooked (it remains my favorite episode). I will be sad to see it go. Also, I think Lost deserves kudos for being the only show that I have kept up with this year. Way to go.
The Office (2005- ) This is another one that I haven’t kept up with this season. I saw the wedding (thank God) BUT I missed the birth of Jim and Pam’s first born!!! This was really stressful for me. I will definitely catch up on this one over the summer as well.
Scrubs (2001-2010) The first season of Scrubs is awesome. And there is a lot more awesomeness after that. But it did have its not so great moments. And this last season has been sub-par. When I heard it was canceled, I wasn’t disappointed. It had a great run.
Seinfeld (1990-1998) I haven’t watched all of the seasons (I think I’ve watched through season 6 on DVD) but it’s funny enough to go on the list. I love Jerry.
Veronica Mars (2004-2007) If I could be as cool as Veronica Mars, then my life would be set. I love this show. Thank God for TV on DVD. I only wish it could have lasted longer.
West Wing (1999-2006) IF I had to pick a favorite, this might be it (butlostisaCLOSEsecond!) Aaron Sorkin is a genius. It’s not even funny how attached I am to this show. Love it, love it, LOVE IT.
I’m currently re-watching West Wing on DVD. It’s amazing how many episodes you forget of a show that you watched 10 years ago. It’s been so fun to watch it again, and that is actually what inspired this post. What are your favorite TV shows?
