… and we’re back

4 May

Greetings, blog world! I have officially survived (my last) charette! I may have carpel tunnel and trouble holding a butter knife, but I have survived. Hello, summertime! I still have three exams to get through, but the worst is over.

Despite the lack of sleep and the early-onset arthritis I seem to have developed from repetitive tasks (think clicking a mouse and cutting chipboard), charette has had its good moments. You become really close to your studio-mates (who you are essentially living with) and all of the awesome people in studio really helped me get through it. I stand by the idea that sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying, and my friends and studio definitely kept me laughing. Bottom line: my class is awesome and we love each other. It’s beautiful, really.

Also, my family rocks. I got not one, but TWO packages in the mail during charette, which was really fun. It’s so nice to know your family is thinking about you when all you can think about is how much your life sucks. My aunt made homemade chocolate chip cookies and mailed them to me, which was so sweet and delicious. And my mom had an Edible Arrangement sent to me!

Healthy, pretty, AND delicious! Score. Nothing like some fruit to help fight off the scurvy during charette.

While I’m thanking people, I ought to give a shout out to my amazing fiance and love of my life for putting up with my crankiness for a week. He gets the full brunt of my frustration and still manages to be nice to me. And he sends me cute encouraging messages! What more could a girl want?

After my all-nighter last night, I came home and slept for three hours, then ordered some pad thai and have been catching up on blogs. I don’t think it’s hit me that it is over yet. I plan on continuing to chill and watch LOST (which is almost over?! What?!) That’s all I got. Happy Tuesday : )

Congrats on being done! Loved the Edible arrangement. I have always wanted to get one of those, they seem like a great idea!
