So I know it’s a little late to hop on the bandwagon, but I thought this book deserved it’s own post.
I read The Help while I was at the beach and it was the best book that I’ve read in a long time. The book takes place in Jackson Mississippi in the early 1960’s. I loved reading about how people lived back then and all of the social standards they lived by. The characters were easy to relate to and the story was so uplifting. But my favorite thing about the book was the author managed to portray multiple sides to all the characters in the book. Even the most despicable characters had some admirable qualities. I always think it’s important to show that nothing in life is truly black and white (excuse the pun). I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. Loved it!
