Inception

entertainment

Go see this movie! I didn’t really have any expectations going into the movie (except that I am a long time Leo lover- more on that later), but it definitely delivered. There is a lot of action in it but pretty much everything about it is beautiful and really cool.

I’m not going to go into the plot, because I think most movies are best if you just go in not knowing a ton. BUT I would like to do a run down on how awesome this cast was.

First of all: LEO (spoken in a whisper like Dr. Evil in Goldmember)

I have a long-time undying devotion for Leonardo DiCaprio. And no, it didn’t start with Titanic (although I did have a poster from the movie hanging over my bed for several years- different story). It’s really more a product of renting The Man in the Iron Mask when I was in middle school and watching it every day after school for like four days in a row. I was obsessed.

I’m not even obsessed in a crush kind of way. I mean, obviously he is cute in Titanic. And I love him in Catch Me If You Can. But in Inception, I really didn’t find him attractive at all. I just think he is consistently great in everything. I like him. A lot. And I love a lot of his movies.

I would like to say that I’m one of those die-hard fans that has watched every Leo movie and loved every single one. That’s just not true. I haven’t seen a lot of his movies. The Departed just doesn’t really look like my thing (although I do love me some Matt Damon). But I bet that he is awesome in all of them.

I didn’t really mean for this post to become about Leo, but he was basically awesome as usual in Inception.

As much as I love Leo, I think Joseph Gordon-Levitt really stole the show. Remember him, the teenage kid on 3rd Rock From the Sun? Well now he is grown up, dashingly handsome, and kick ass.

The rest of the cast was also amazing. Tom Hardy (who I’d never heard of before) was funny and interesting. Marion Cotillard was hauntingly beautiful. And Ellen Page way surpassed my expectations.

I completely enjoyed every minute of this movie. It totally sucks you in. My mind was spinning by the end, but that’s good for you, right? AND the theater clapped at the end of the movie, which I always think is a telltale sign of a great flick.

I saw it this weekend also and I thought it was AMAZING. One of my Facebook friends said today that the director had performed inception on all the moviegoers – to make us all willing to pay to see it again.

Such a thought-provoking movie – and it proves you can make a great film without a lot of gratuitous vulgarity.
