book report: The 19th Wife

Uncategorized

13 Aug

I have mixed feeling about this book. On the one hand, the characters are intriguing, the topic is fascinating, and the plot ties up nicely at the end. On the other hand, this book has got some gross stuff in it. There was more than one occasion where I got some serious jeebs (of the heebie jeebie variety, of course.) I have a low threshold for old men forcibly taking 15 year-olds to be their wives. Eww.

There isn’t too much for me to say about this one except that while it was an interesting read, it definitely was not a feel-good book. I gave this 3 out of 5 stars on Goodreads.
