Thanksgiving was pretty relaxed this year. Brian and I decided that since it was the last Thanksgiving before we were married that we would just eat dinner with our respective families and deal with splitting the holiday next year. I saw his family in the morning and he came over to say hello to mine in the afternoon. Around 4 my family piled in our van and headed to my aunt and uncle’s house for the FEAST. My friend from school whose family lives out of state drove up from school and ate Thanksgiving dinner with us! I managed to eat too many appetizers before dinner and was unsuccessful at piling on as much food as I had wanted too. Thankfully, between Brian’s family and my relatives I got enough leftovers later in the weekend to satisfy my Thanksgiving needs.
On Friday my family went to buy our Christmas tree. That makes it sounds like it’s some big ordeal, but really it only takes about 45 minutes with travel time. This year we decided to take our Christmas card picture at the tree place in hopes of being a little more festive. The picture turned out well and of course we took some other goofy photos as well.. Unfortunately I was remiss in downloading the pics to my computer, so no pictures on the blog.
After the Christmas tree Brian and I headed to our favorite local Mexican restaurant for chips, salsa, and queso. It was so yummy! Then my mom made London broil, potatoes, and carrots which was also delicious. Yum.
Friday night Brian and I also watched (500) Days of Summer which I’ve been meaning to watch for a long time. It was so good! Not really what I expected, but it was really entertaining. To be honest, I think that writing greeting cards sounds like just as much fun as being an architect. But that’s just me.
Yesterday afternoon I delivered Christmas trees with my mom and our family friend. We drove around and listened to the new Glee Christmas album that my bro’s gf let me burn from her copy. I really like it! So far my faves are Last Christmas and O Holy Night. Basically, I’m happiest when Rachel is singing.
Yesterday night I drove my brother back to school before going back myself. We hit some traffic, but I got some free dining hall food out of it as payment. I can’t believe how quickly this break went!
I also made some exciting wedding progress this weekend. Check back on Wednesday to read about it!
Excuse me – who made the London Broil? I believe I was the one grilling in the dark.
