As I mentioned last week, I had been trying to figure out how to get a Pinterest account. Well, turns out you’re in as long as you know someone who can invite you (thanks Amber!) So let me know if you want to get in on the action and I think I can make it happen.
I wanted an account because the idea behind Pinterest is awesome. You “pin” photos that you find on the web and they are compiled onto boards, allowing you to share your favorite online photos with your friends and the Pinterest community.
The website is really cool, but after using it I have a few complaints. They are as follows:
1. It’s not as intuitive as you might think. I’m usually pretty good at figuring this stuff out, but there’s definitely a learning curve. If you need help, this tutorial helped answer a few of my questions.
2. I don’t really know anyone who has it (besides Amber, of course) which kind of defeats the whole point of sharing. If you have an account, find me!
3. There seem to be a lot of glitches, or perhaps my internet is too sucky to handle the website. Either way, I had to try many times today to pin two pictures.
So those are my issues. But I’m going to stick with it. It’s totally perfect for organizing wedding inspiration, or really anything that you want to save. It’s much more fun to look at than that annoyingly long list of bookmarks you have on your browser. Let me know if you want me to invite you, it would be SO much fun if I knew more people who used it!
