Wedding Wednesday: The Great Undertaking

wedding

9 Mar

Yesterday afternoon my mom and I went to a stationery store and looked through some books of wedding invitations. There were some designs that I liked, but as I flipped through I realized that I gravitated towards the simpler ones. We bookmarked a few that we liked, and the lady began to price them.

The estimates ranged from $550 to $1300.
It was around this point that an old idea began nagging me in my head: I can make these myself.
So with 157 days until my wedding, I have decided to make my wedding invitations.
I’m kind of scared. Actually, I’m really scared. But looking at the invitation suites in there mostly made me realize that there aren’t that many components to them. Most had four. I think that if I set deadlines for myself and make use of my “wedding team,” this is a doable DIY project. Even with the other projects that I have already been planning on.
Did anyone of you make your own wedding invites? I would love to hear what sources and shortcuts you used!

I did! I think they turned out cute and saved us a bunch of money! Plus I got to do them EXACTLY how I wanted them.

I did!!! and it was totally worth it. I got to use my dad's original artwork and they were so much more personal. I'd love to send you one if you want to message me your address (maybe on fb).
