When I got home on Sunday we went out to dinner with my mom for Mother’s Day. That was the fifth meal I had eaten out that weekend. And I don’t mean college weekend. I mean Saturday and Sunday. Needless to say I was ready to buckle down and start eating healthier come Monday.
I struggle with writing posts about this because I don’t want anyone to think that I am binge dieting for the wedding. I’m not. I hate it when girls walk around saying they’re fat all the time, and I don’t think I am. My goal is took look like the best version of myself, not to be skinnier than ever before. I’ve decided that as long as I put my best foot forward and know that I was fit and healthy leading up to the wedding, then I will be satisfied with my efforts. However, I think I need a little bit more structure to make that happen.
Since my last post, I’ve lost 1 or 2 more pounds, bringing me to about 6 or 7 pounds since January. I don’t really have a weight goal anymore, I just want to feel fit and maybe have my dress fit better, so it needs less alterations.
Yesterday I started counting points with my mom. My mom has had a lot of success with it, so I thought I would give it a try. So far, so good. I like that fruits and veggies are no points, so you are really encouraged to eat healthier. I also feel good about being able to splurge occasionally with the whole plus points thing.
On Monday I started doing the 30 Day Shred. Today will be my fourth day and I’ve actually gotten pretty good at tuning Jillian out so that I want to punch her in the face a little bit less. Have any of you done this before? Did you do it every single day for 30 days? That’s my goal but it doesn’t say that explicitly anywhere… I feel myself wanting a little more direction when it comes to this workout plan. I actually like it much more than I thought though- I can already tell that I’m getting much better at it, but I’m still sore. My calves hurt the most!
Have you had any success with Weight Watchers or the 30 Day Shred?
Hey, I recently discovered your blog and thought I'd post today. I just started 30 Day Shred a couple days ago–it's tough! My calves are killing me too! My arms are a little sore too. Glad to know someone else out there is suffering along with me . . .
Alissa, I got your comment but blogger appears to have deleted it. Thanks for reading! I've powered through 30 Day Shred and I'm feeling less sore now, hopefully you're feeling better too!
