I know today isn’t Wednesday… but yesterday was! Brian and I were gone from 9 AM until after 10 PM meeting with some of our vendors and unloading a van’s worth of stuff into our new apartment.
Our first meeting was with the organist. We met him in the chapel, and he played snippets of the songs he would play. The music he will play is very traditional, and I loved how the bridal march and the recessional music sounded on the organ. The chapel we are getting married in is pretty epic, so I think the organ music is going to be awesome. I’m not a stickler for tradition when it comes to weddings, so it’s funny that our ceremony is turning out to be so traditional, but I’m really excited about it. It’s going to be awesome.
After meeting with the organist, we drove an hour to our new apartment, ate lunch, and unloaded our stuff. Our AC isn’t turned on yet, so it was kinda gross. I’m really excited to really move in and unpack and organize our stuff.
At 4:30 we were at the home of the woman who is baking our cupcakes. Maria was really nice, and once I was done ogling her kitchen she had the cutest little box of sample cupcakes waiting for us! We got a vanilla vanilla, chocolate with vanilla, and a chocolate goodness cupcake… it was hard to pick a favorite! They were so moist and delicious.
In between we ate dinner and walked around a little bit. In the restaurant we ran into one of my friends that I’ve known since second grade AND a couple who teaches at our high school… two hours away. Weird! Charlottesville is so funny.
Our last stop was meeting with the DJ. We discussed the itinerary, announcements, songs… all that stuff. Derek is awesome and I know he is going to do a great job getting the party started.
I’m feeling pretty good about things after today. I feel like I can start changing my blanket answer to the “how is the wedding planning going” question from “there is still a lot to do” to “everything’s done and I’m starting to get excited!” Did that make sense? The next couple of weeks are all about finishing details and making sure every thing is in order! It’s finally coming together!
