Design Inspiration

23 Jan

It’s time to get inspired!  I found Lula’s blog from one of the blogs she designed and then discovered that she has designed several other blogs that I read.  Lula is a really talented designer, and I just love her style.  I completely fell in love with her site.  It’s simple, but packs a punch.

Lulapalooza final

There are lots of things to love about this design!  I love  the background color and how the menu bar and the posting area are the only elements that are white.  The background color reminds me of newsprint and I love how the menu and the posting area just float above it.  The fonts that she chose are so dynamic and remind me of a magazine layout.  Everything looks so chic and put together.  I love the pops of color.

I’m a sucker for any use of paint smudge, for lack of a better term (which you could probably tell from my design of Sketch and Wash.)  I love her about me graphic, with the hot pick paint smudge, the pop of white script, and the graphic description in bold pink text to match.  Don’t we all want bloggers to just cut to the chase?  That’s what that little part in pink does.

Thanks for reading!  What sites are inspiring you lately?

I LOVE Lulu’s website. AND all of the designs she’s done! Give yourself some credit too, you’re blog design is just as amazing! The pink and blue colors go together perfectly. =) Also, I love paint smudges too, as you can probably tell from my blog haha. BTW, I’ve been meaning to ask you, would you like to do a guest post for me sometime? Just email me if you’re interested! I’d love to feature you!
