Design Inspiration: Sweetly Complicated

Design Inspiration

12 Mar

I came across Sweetly Complicated for the first time the other day and I just knew it would be perfect for a Design Inspiration post!  This fresh design was created by Melissa of Cherry on Top Blog Shoppe, who launched her site just last month and already has a bunch of beautiful designs in her portfolio!

Sweetly Complicated

There are so many great things about this design!  I really like simple header paired with the bold menu.  The menus in my recent designs have been more minimal, but this one reminds me that sometimes the menu can be the center of the design.  I also really like how the tagline is underneath the menu, it makes the whole thing seem more like a cohesive space at the top of the blog rather than separate header and menu graphics.  The overall feel of the blog is so fresh!  The colors are soft and bright at the same time, and I love all of the textures!

One of the things I like about this design is the layout.  I’ve realized that I’ve kind of fallen into a routine with the layouts of my design.  I like how this one has a seamless wrapper that extends all the way from the very top to the very bottom.  I’ve never gone this route before, but I’d like to give it a try sometime.  And I love the detailing on the sides of the wrapper!  It’s so cute!

Make sure you head over to Sweetly Complicated and Cherry on Top Blog Shoppe to check them out for yourself!
