One of my loves from college lives in DC now, so on Saturday morning I woke up at the crack of dawn and roadtripped to hang out with her for the weekend. The weather was rainy, so I didn’t bring my camera on the first day, which it turns out might have been a blessing in disguise because I think I would have taken more pictures than I would have known what to do with!
We did so many fun things! We hit up the Old Post Office Pavilion Observation Tower, the Tidal Basin for the cherry blossoms, the Hirshorn, Eastern Market, Capitol Hill, the Botanic Gardens. It’s amazing how many things I’ve never done in DC before considering that I grew up 25 miles away. I’d never been that close to the Capitol before! And of course, we ate lots and lots of really good food. I had so much fun exploring and catching up!
Oh! I saw the The Hunger Games on Friday. Anyone else?! Brian and I both loved it. I really want the soundtrack now, the Arcade Fire song at the end was so perfect!
What were you up to this weekend, friends?
Edit: I linked up our wedding ceremony post over on Schue Love today! Click over to check out a bunch of beautiful weddings!
The tulips are so pretty! None of mine have come up this year, but my daffodils did. Doesn't it look a little like candy land in DC right now with all of the flowers and trees in pastel colors?
Looks like you had a great weekend! D.C. looks so clean & peaceful in your photos. I need to get there some day!
Great photos!
I saw HG and LOVED it!!
DC looks so pretty! I've never been but would definitely like to go someday! Great photos too!! What kind of camera do you use?
Ps – new reader here! And I love your blog! :)

How fun–I love DC! I bet the cherry blossoms were beautiful!
so fun!
I was just in DC a few weeks ago and had a great time. I agree, it is pretty funny when you realize how little we explore our own hometowns. :)
This weekend was full of college basketball, the season home opener for my favorite Major League Soccer team + tailgating, The Hunger Games (also loved it!), and a luncheon with my boyfriend's alma mater. Busy weekend, now onto a busy week!
Happy Monday.
gorgeous pictures!! and I loved the Hunger Games too!!
I use to live in DC! It's a really neat city! Looks like you JUST missed the cherry blossoms?
I saw the Hunger Games this past weekend. I though the movie was good, not great, but again it could have been the fact that I felt sick throughout the entire movie due to motion sickness. I heard others had the same issue… Sigh.. Next time I will sit in the very, very back row!
xoxo
