Brian and I spent most of the weekend working, but there were some highlights. Since yesterday was Easter, I decided that was a great excuse to make mimosas. I don’t do it very often, because Brian doesn’t like them, so it seems like a waste just to buy/ open everything for just me, but yesterday I was all “It’s Easter and I’m working! I’m making mimosas!” I’m so glad I did, they’re so refreshing!
The weather was gorgeous, so I took some breaks to read my book outside. I need to do that more often. We went on a walk, and I made the butteriest meal I’ve ever made or eaten in my life. Then late at night we decided we needed dessert and embarked on our first true cooking fail as a couple… it was a disaster. Let’s just say the cake wound up in the trash.
How was your weekend, friends?
Sounds like a nice first married Easter….heck if he doesn't want a mimosa, I'll take one :)
Happy Easter! We had brunch and mimosas on the porch today, too, and they were perfect! Sorry about the baking debacle – those happen every so often!
Oh no! Sorry about your cake! But don't lose hope, try again and I bet you'll be surprised! Glad you had a relaxing weekend!
I had a cooking fail yesterday too! :( I always love your pictures.
I love mimosas and your picture of ours looks professional! Glad you had a relaxing first Easter together.
Aw. haha! At least your mimosa came out ok?? Sorry about the cake. :/ Overall, sounds like a pretty great weekend!
I hate baking disasters!! But those mimosas look delicious! ;)
Loved how you linked to our glorious Easter festivities from last year!! :)
Nothing says Easter like Mimosa! Sorry to hear about the disaster of baking… WE all have our own disasters, some of us could write a book on it! LOL! xoxo A-
I also (as I mentioned on Twitter) splurged and enjoyed a peach mimosa. Totally worth it!
I had a lovely weekend; a friend's birthday, a good book, and Mad Men really rounded it out.
Those mimosas look ahhh mazing! Nothing wrong with celebrating just the 2 of you – in fact, I kind of wish the hubs & I did that. Lovin' your blog Kate :)

Sounds like the perfect day _ mimosas- book -.good laugh at trashing the cake (at least % hope you laughed and weren.t traumatised by the experience)
How fabulous does that mimosa look. Beautiful pictures. The hubs and I celebrated solo and I really did not like it at all. xo xo
Sounds like a fantastic time. The photos are beautiful.
I spent my Easter with a mimosa too!
Just didn't get any photos.
Thanks for sharing your lovely ones.
I think mimosa and Easter go hand in hand! I had one too…okay, maybe I had a few, but still. I love them, they are so good and so refreshing! I hope you guys had a lovely Easter!

That's so cool! Your first Easter as a married couple! I always feel guilty for wanting to make something just for myself too. I always want my bf to enjoy whatever I'm making with me! Haha!
Great pictures too! Love that last one!! :)
Sounds like a wonderful first married Easter! We spent it just the two of us, too–but no delicious looking mimosas like those!
Beautiful, beautiful shots! Mimosas sound perfect for Easter morning.
This was the first Easter I didn't spend at home, so I was working too. =/ But my mom sent up Easter candy, so we had something to celebrate with. =)
That last photo looks completely amazing! Still sounds like a great Easter, even with just the two of you. Haha, and keep trying to disastrously cook together. You'll end up with a cake that doesn't belong in the trash one day, I'm sure. :)
i love mimosas! i'm glad you had a good easter :)
I husband and I just moved across the country, so we celebrated our first solo Easter this year, too. We picnicked in the park with our puggle (alliteration! ah!) and I tried making macarons for the first time!
Your pictures are lovely! Looks like it was a very relaxing Easter weekend.
