Easter

holidays· newlyweds· photography

Brian and I spent our first married Easter at home, just the two of us.  It didn’t feel that strange not to be home with family because I actually haven’t been home for Easter since I went to college.  It’s just always bad timing with school, and my college roommates didn’t usually go home either.

Brian and I spent most of the weekend working, but there were some highlights.  Since yesterday was Easter, I decided that was a great excuse to make mimosas.  I don’t do it very often, because Brian doesn’t like them, so it seems like a waste just to buy/ open everything for just me, but yesterday I was all “It’s Easter and I’m working!  I’m making mimosas!”  I’m so glad I did, they’re so refreshing!

The weather was gorgeous, so I took some breaks to read my book outside.  I need to do that more often.  We went on a walk, and I made the butteriest meal I’ve ever made or eaten in my life.  Then late at night we decided we needed dessert and embarked on our first true cooking fail as a couple… it was a disaster.  Let’s just say the cake wound up in the trash.

How was your weekend, friends?

Happy Easter! We had brunch and mimosas on the porch today, too, and they were perfect! Sorry about the baking debacle – those happen every so often!

Nothing says Easter like Mimosa! Sorry to hear about the disaster of baking… WE all have our own disasters, some of us could write a book on it! LOL! xoxo A-

I also (as I mentioned on Twitter) splurged and enjoyed a peach mimosa. Totally worth it!

I had a lovely weekend; a friend's birthday, a good book, and Mad Men really rounded it out.

That's so cool! Your first Easter as a married couple! I always feel guilty for wanting to make something just for myself too. I always want my bf to enjoy whatever I'm making with me! Haha!

Great pictures too! Love that last one!! :)

Beautiful, beautiful shots! Mimosas sound perfect for Easter morning.

This was the first Easter I didn't spend at home, so I was working too. =/ But my mom sent up Easter candy, so we had something to celebrate with. =)

That last photo looks completely amazing! Still sounds like a great Easter, even with just the two of you. Haha, and keep trying to disastrously cook together. You'll end up with a cake that doesn't belong in the trash one day, I'm sure. :)

I husband and I just moved across the country, so we celebrated our first solo Easter this year, too. We picnicked in the park with our puggle (alliteration! ah!) and I tried making macarons for the first time!
Your pictures are lovely! Looks like it was a very relaxing Easter weekend.
