After Brian finishes the semester we are packing up our things to spend the summer in Northern Virginia. It’s not the perfect set up (we’ll be sleeping on my old childhood bed and trundle in my brother’s tiny old bedroom for twelve weeks) but after being there last weekend, I can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be for the summer. Because even though Brian and I will make homes wherever we go, I’ll always be home in this place too. And my family is pretty awesome, to boot.
Aren’t those azaleas to die for? I wish they lasted all season!
OMG they are stunning!!! what beautiful photos!!
Going home is the best!
I can't wait to see my familiy again in May.
Beautiful pictures!
Wonderful photos :)
Beautiful pictures! I totally feel you on the moving back home thing. It is bittersweet. When Chris is done with his next semester here, we will be living by the grace of friends & family in their spare bedrooms on their couches.
Beautiful pictures! I particularly like the lighting in the last one!

Sounds like a fantastic summer to me!
I love your parents' backyard! Totally gushing over those azaelas, and the covered porch. I hope you and Brian have a wonderful time this summer with your family!
kate! what kind of lens do you use?
That sounds like quite the adventure! Pretty, pretty flowers. :) I like your statement about making a home wherever you go together. That's a comforting sentiment considering the next few years will bring a couple college graduations and a lot of changes for the boyfriend and I. Good to know. :)
Beautiful!!!
Looks like such a lovely place to spend summer! Oh, I wish I could stay at my moms all summer too. Laying in the garden with a book in my lap and the sun warming my skin, and no worries. Just like old days!
Gorgeous pictures and that sounds like it will be a good time….good QT time with the fam!
Looks like the perfect place to spend the summer! Are you moving somewhere new in the fall??
