Thoughts on Business with Intention

Uncategorized

16 May

business-with-intentionLast weekend I attended the Business with Intention workshop that was held in Washington.  Even though I read practically every word that I could find written about it before I went, I still wasn’t 100% sure what to expect.  In case any of you were thinking about going, I thought I’d share my experience with you!

First of all, this was my first experience of meeting another blogger ever.  I was excited and nervous, especially since Jess and Clara are both totally awesome and bloggers that I really admire.  It was so fun meeting them in person, and they are both incredibly friendly and welcoming.

So what did we do?  Basically we all took a long, hard look at our businesses or business ideas, and then we talked about it.  It felt like being in a group therapy session for small business owners.  This was incredibly helpful for me, just because even though there are tons of people out there like me, sometimes being in a field that is relatively uncharted can feel isolating.  Knowing that others were going through similar issues helped immensely.

Sitting in our group session all day was kind of like having your personal think tank.  You not only had Jess and her business expertise (which is pretty awesome to see in action, by the way) but you also had this collaborative element from the other group members, who all came from very different fields.  I came away with a clearer vision and feeling more calm about my business than I have since I launched it.

I’ve hinted at this before, but I’m planning to relaunch my site sometime in July, so look for an official announcement soon!  I can’t wait to put some of the things I learned to good use.

I’m excited to see how your site evolves and grows after attending, Kate. I know you have been toying with the idea of changing things up and I’m really looking forward to seeing that!
