Memorial Day weekend

family· fitness· weekend recap

29 May

Did anyone else feel like all of a sudden it was summer this weekend?  Of course, the first year that my family doesn’t belong to a pool, BAM, pool weather on Memorial Day weekend.  I was so jealous looking at all the beach and pool pictures online.

But, despite my lack of sitting poolside, I had a pretty good weekend.  I ran my first 10k on Saturday!  It took me 67 minutes (clearly I’m not breaking any records) and it was cool running in the same race as Brian, my dad, and my brother.  The course was close to our family friends’ house, so my mom came and the three of them cheered for us on the corner of their street.

What else?  We went and picked up this antique china cabinet that my mom bought, celebrated my sister-in-law’s birthday, and went out to lunch yesterday.  Then we had a very low key cookout last night that involved some more blueberry pound cake.

How was your weekend?

Beautiful pictures of a lovely atmosphere :) During these last warm days I just really wish we lived closer to the sea. And we wouldn't mind a sailboat either :P

Congrats on your first 10K! I'm glad you had such a great time, and your weekend sounds lovely. I love all the small details you captured in your photos.

My weekend was relatively low-key, but much needed after a busy week. Next week is a partial week too, which is just crazy to think about.
