Hi Stripes and Polka Dots readers! I’m Lisa from Elembee, and I was excited (and super jealous!) when Kate asked me to guest post while she’s lounging at the beach! I thought it would be the perfect excuse to relive some of my favorite beach vacations. Let’s fly away, shall we?
Zakynthos, Greece
I first realized just how much I love the beach when I visited the Greek island of Zakynthos. Prior to that, I had only experienced beaches lake style, plus one slightly traumatizing experience in Galveston involving multiple jellyfish. But Zakynthos — crystal clear water, soft, fine sand — what’s not to love? Unfortunately we were there a little too early to visit Shipwreck Bay, but I’m definitely adding it to my bucket list.
Hydra, Greece
On my trip to Greece, we also visited the island of Hydra. Fun fact: they don’t allow cars! Hydra doesn’t really have traditional beaches, but as you walk along the rocky coast, there are staircases leading to the water. Wade out on the large, smooth rocks, and a few feet out, the bottom drops off! The best part? The water here is so clear, you can still see straight to the bottom, even 20 feet down.
Kaanapali Beach, Maui
I recently visited Maui, and we stayed on Kaanapali Beach. See that black rock in the distance? There are TONS of fish over there. I’m pretty sure I could’ve spent hours watching them float around in the waves!
What are your favorite beaches?
Nice to meet ya! =)
Thanks so much for having me!
