In the past when I’ve been too busy to blog, I’d just throw up a random blog post explaining why I was so busy.  Sometimes things got nice and introspective… others just rambled on.  For better or worse, we’re gonna try this today.

First of all- December is always busy, right?  Well, this year has been especially crazy.  I’ve had a strange confluence of clients all finishing at the same time.  Probably the biggest project I’ve EVER worked on is launching tomorrow- I cannot WAIT to share it with you guys!

Tomorrow Brian and I are moving back up to Northern Virginia for winter break- likely our last “winter break” ever.  I can’t wait to be home, but the shuffle is never fun, and we’re going to be there for a while so packing is not exciting.  And we may or may not be making a pit stop for puppy love on the way up (it’s just hard to pass up- don’t judge me.)  So if you’re waiting on something from me- I’m moving tomorrow, so any patience you can spare for me is much appreciated.

Then on top of all that craziness, as the end of the year approaches, I’ve been thinking a lot about my business and my goals for 2013.  So tonight I made a little change to my services page.

I’m going to be making some BIG changes in 2013.  I’m a little nervous, but mostly REALLY excited.  I’m going to be streamlining the services that I offer, and overhauling the way that I structure and run my business.  If you were thinking about hiring me to design something for you- please don’t take this as a “closed for business” sign.  I am very much open for business, and I’d love to hear about your project if you’d like to email me!

In short, I know that I’ve been a little more absent than usual lately- I’ve been bad about responding to email and comments these last few weeks.  Just know that I appreciate each of your thoughtful responses that you leave here, and I truly value each and every one of you guys.  I can’t wait to see what the new year brings and experience this crazy ride with you guys!

Anyone else doing the move thing for winter break?  An extended stay for the holidays counts too, even if you’re not a student.  Just curious.  I hope you guys are having a wonderful week and I can’t wait to get back into a more normal swing of things!

I’m making a move, but for a new job! And I’m doing it all RIGHT after Christmas (liiike two days after), so it’s going to be in.sane. I feel your pain on packing.

Also, you guys need a dog. They’re the best — I have two labs and they are the absolute best. You literally never feel bad when a dog’s around :)

You gotta do what you gotta do! Plus even though it’s busy it’s such an exciting time and sounds like great things are up for 2013!

I’m ‘moving’ back home for 4 weeks for my Christmas break, I feel your pain! Don’t you find packing the worst? I can NEVER decide what I can manage without for 4 weeks and what I can leave behind. Especially with clothes – so difficult!! I’m right in the middle of my research project as well, so finding the time to do ANYTHING is pretty hard!
Good luck for all the changes you’re making next year!!

YES! You should have seen our car yesterday- I rode with three pillows in my lap the whole way home because there was absolutely no room for them in the back seat. I guess there are worse things that I could’ve had to hold…

Yay for big changes, and for making the scary decision to shut down your queue and give yourself time to figure it out!

Thanks Allyssa! It went pretty well- Brian forgot one of the cords for my computer, but luckily my dad has a ton of old computers so we were able to swap it. So I’m up and running over here now! :)
