You know how there are some typical posts that most bloggers do at some point? Well, in all the years that I’ve been blogging I’ve never done a Q&A post. Ever.
This week we’re going to change that. I want you guys to throw your questions at me. It can be about design, blogging, my life, anything! (well, not anything, but within reason) I want to know what you want to know about. Just leave your question in a comment on this post and next week I’ll start answering them.
I’m hoping to eventually put together an FAQ for my about page. You’ll notice that I added and tweaked my pages over the weekend, so check out the new archives and resources pages.
Love the resources page, and thanks for including me! (I know that’s not a question — sorry! If I think of any I’ll let you know!)
haha that’s okay- I’m always a fan of comments :) Thanks Lisa!
Hi there! I was wondering – as someone who is learning design in my spare time on my own, how did you get started, what are some tips for someone just starting out, and do you have any resources for someone who wants to succeed in this field?
Did my comment go through earlier? I want to know what’s for breakfast in your house. And whether you or Brian makes dinner. And I want to know if design is your forever thing (or at least as far as you can think of…) or if it’s a ‘for now’ job while you figure out/pursue what else you want to do? Excited to see this come together! xoxo, eliza
I know you studied architecture in college, so what were your original plans for that degree? And what does one actually do with a degree in architecture? (I honestly had never heard of an architecture degree until you mentioned that’s what you studied. I don’t know where my brain was at!)
How’d you start your design business? Like how did you get clients, get your name out there, etc.
Do you plan on staying in Virginia, or do you think you’ll move elsewhere at some point? And if you had the opportunity to live anywhere, where would you want to live?
PS: Thanks for including me on your resources page!
I’m really interested in the materials you use when sketching/drawing. I know you used to go over some of this on Sketch and Wash, but what are your favorite pens, paper, etc? BTW- I’m still loving my moleskin sketchbook!
I’d like to know what a normal work day looks like for you (I’m nosy like that!), and what are some of your favourite movies? Looking forward to reading the FAQ page!
