12 More Google Web Fonts

tips and tutorials

16 May

Over six months ago I wrote a post about my 12 favorite Google web fonts.  Since I wrote it it’s become my most popular post, so I figured I’d give you guys more of what you’re looking for: free web fonts!

Picking 12 more Google fonts wasn’t hard- with over 600 font families to choose from, I had to do some narrowing to get to the list you see below.  Enjoy!

12 More Google Fonts

GFS Didot || Trocchi || Sanchez || Quetrial || Playfair Display || Nixie One || Parisienne || Leckerli One || Petit Formal Script || Lato || Open Sans || Muli

Have you discovered any new favorite fonts lately?  It doesn’t matter if it’s a web font or just a desktop font- I’m a dork about all of them!

And yes, since I was going with Disney lyrics again I decided to just go for the rainbow gradient.  Go big or go home, right?

P.S. I’m not the only one to have written about this topic- check out my lettering + typography board for more font posts!

So many fonts, so little time! And you know what’s sad? I have no clue what Disney movie half these lyrics are from. I think I need to revisit my childhood.

MISSED OPPORTUNITY: I should have turned these posts into a quiz! Name all 12 and you get a prize! (AKA my utmost respect, haha)

Questrial is definitely one of my go to fonts. I’ve been trying to break my love affair with it, but it’s so hard. It’s so gorgeous!

I love it! I haven’t found the right project for it yet, but I’m keeping my eyes open for a good place to use it!

Love these! I’m a big fan of Nixie One.

On the “new fonts” front, I’m really liking Gabriela. It’s flirty but readable http://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Gabriela#charset

That’s funny, because just 5 minutes ago I was admiring that font on someone else’s blog! I’d never seen it before, but I’ll have to find a way to use it soon! Thanks Marie :)

Offhand I can name at least eight of these movies:

Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, Cinderella, Hercules, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Aladdin and Robin Hood.

    Love these fonts, too!

I am glad to read I am not the only one obsessing over Questrial right now. I am just digging that font right now. Thanks for the great post and I pinned it too :)

Not new… but I finally made the switch to Montserrat and Muli. I am OBSESSED with them together. So clean and modern!

Great post! You always see font combo posts, but it is nice to see one on google fonts. I might have to go turn my heading tags to the PlayFair Display!

I use Playfair Display for the headings and I love it! I also use Georgia font for the posts, but I’m thinking of changing it. :)
