Conferences and Socializing

blogging· business

get social

Let’s talk about blog conferences.  Last year I attended the Business with Intention Workshop and AltNYC, and both were really cool experiences.  But regardless of how the actual event was, having an event to look forward to and push me outside my comfort zone did wonders for my state of mind.  Let’s face it, working from home can be isolating, and it’s easy to fall into ruts.  For me, the best way to get out of your rut is to meet new people and learn something new.

This year I’m itching to attend at least one conference, but it’s already May and I haven’t found one that fits just right.  It seems like the best way to find new conferences is by word of mouth, so I thought maybe we could all help each other out today.

Have you attended any great conferences?  Do you have any lined up?  Please share!  The ones I was really considering but didn’t work with my schedule were AltNYC (now sold out) and Amber Housley Inspired.

Oh isolating is no joke! I want to go to Stationery Academy but it falls during state fair and my girls are showing. I’m curious to see what others post!

Everything I’ve seen about Stationery Academy sounds amazing! It’s always a bummer when the perfect conference for you falls at a time that you can’t go!

Completely agree about how nice it is to have a conference to look forward to! Right now I’m looking forward to attending the Creative Freelancer Conference for the first time — it’s in San Francisco in June: http://www.howdesignlive.com/ehome/47001/Creative/?&

i promise i’m not usually one for plugging my own stuff on other people’s sites, but since we’re on the subject, go blog social is a new conference starting out this year and is going to have a TON of amazing speakers. i’m super excited for it! i’ve never been able to attend the conferences that i wanted due to cost of travel, so to have one right in my backyard is kind of nice :) would love to see your face there! Wow Rachael- that looks AMAZING! Unfortunately, that one falls during the week of my family vacation as well, but I’m so glad you commented- hopefully someone will see it here and it will be the perfect fit for them! I totally know what you mean about location and travelling, it’s so hard to find one that covers all the right who, what, when, and where!

I attended Stationery Academy last year and it was an amazing experience and I heard this year is going to be even better. I can’t say enough great things about it and highly recommend it for anyone at any point in their career! I’m going to Amber Housley Inspired this year and I’m just thrilled to pieces. I get to see a lot of my old StatAcad paper pals and make some new ones. Sorry I’m not much help on introducing any new conferences, but I just had to share. :)
