Trifecta: Gold Foil

Design Inspiration· inspiration

19 Jun

As you’re probably guessing, I didn’t really mean to go two whole months before doing another one of these posts.  Oops!  This week I’m burning the candle on both ends, so I need all the inspiration I can get!

gold foil

I’ve been eyeing gold foil all around the interwebs lately- I just really love the bright texture.  I like both the brushed, directional look and that smudgy, crinkly texture.  I’m dying to use it on a design project!

Are you loving gold foil details, too?  Examples for ogling in the comments would be greatly appreciated!

I adore what Emily McCarthy does with gold foil. She does a great job of incorporating it into her branding projects without seeming repetitive. I love the Gala Invites by Rachel of Pencil Shavings Studio as well. Loved all of the bold stripes paired with the kelly green and gold foil. Great post!

Me too, I love Emily’s use of it on her own site!

I am so in love with gold foil, and I’m working to print a friend’s engagement party invitations in gold foil!

I’d love some tips on printing in gold foil, but no have idea where some good references would be for that!

Yeah, I don’t do much print work, but I better the process is really interesting! I’m in the market for a good free PNG texture if you know of one :)

Thanks so much! And to tie your post together even more… Whitney English introduced me to Emily McCarthy who of course designed my new website AND to Rachel of PencilShavings who did the photo stylings and shot for me! I am SO blessed to have all three of them come together to make the amazing finished product!!! I’m giddy every time I look at the new site! Thanks again Kate!

That’s so funny- I knew the three Whitney knew both of them, but I didn’t realize that all three of them did work on your site! That’s so awesome!
