Today I wanted to just document the little spot where Brian and I lived for most of the first two years of our marriage (two years exactly, actually- today is our anniversary!) I didn’t take many pictures of it, but I wanted to scrounge up the ones that I do have so that I could have them all in one place!
Our apartment was tiny, which was sometimes challenging, but it was ours and it was the first place that we lived together, so it will always hold a special place in our hearts.
We moved last Monday, and a few people asked me where we were headed. Well, we’re actually moving in with my parents for about 4-6 months while we figure out where we want to be so that Brian doesn’t wind up with a crazy commute. We really like being with my family so it’s fine on that front, but trying to cram an apartment’s worth of stuff into a variety of places has not been fun.
Funnily enough, we randomly wound up house sitting for some family friends this week, so we’re actually living about 30 minutes from our hometown this week! I feel like we’re all over the place these last few weeks.
Also, if you now have a Barenaked Ladies song stuck in your head, then my work here is done.
The apartment is cute! I love the blue wall and your jewelry boards! They look so good against the blue wall.
My husband and I had to live with my mother for three months, at about the 2 year mark of our marriage too. We crammed into my old bedroom and had to share my old twin bed. lol
I hope you guys have a good time bunking with the parents. I look forward to seeing where life takes you from here!
Haha we lived with my parents last summer and slept on my twin bed and trundle set- I used to tell all my childhood friends that staying with my parents was just like having sleepovers back in the day! This time around my brother is kindly letting us have his room when he goes to college (which actually used to be my room) so we’re excited to have a little more space and a normal size bed!
happy anniversary you guys! :)
Thanks Kaity! :)
Happy Anniversary!
I lived with my parents for 3 months between moving back to my hometown and the lease starting on my apartment. I thought my Nashville apartment was tiny until I started trying to find a place for all my junk in her MUCH bigger house.
Isn’t it amazing how much STUFF you can fit in a small space? We were amazed by how much we had in our apartment!
Happy anniversary!! Hope y’all have fun plans to celebrate :)
Thanks Rachel! We went to Coastal Flats for dinner and then came home (well, to the house where we’re house sitting) and had dessert and watched Pirates of the Caribbean on TV… it was fun!
Thank you for sharing and expression
Of course!
Happy Anniversary!
Thanks Madelyn! xoxo
Happy anniversary! : )
Thanks Caroline! :)
I loved your little office space too. Was that at this apartment?
Yes! It was really more of an office corner- it’s the far corner in the black and white photo, the one next to the sliding glass door. Once we move into my brother’s room I’ll probably have a similar set up in there, but at least I’ll be able to close the door and go other places in the house. I sometimes had a hard time relaxing when my computer was sitting right next to us while we were watching TV at night.
Happy anniversary!
Thanks Megan! :)
I think that your first apartment will always hold a special place in your heart – I know ours will (even if I hate it most of the time). Congrats on this new chapter my dear! xo
I love how you’ve decorated your apartment, though! But I totally know what you mean :) Thanks Joelle!
I’ve seen two other bloggers today who are celebrating their wedding anniversary too! What an amazing weekend that must have been around the world. Congrats to you guys. You’ll always love this place and talk to your kids about it one day ;)
Aww, really? That’s so cool! Thanks Rachael!
P.S. I JUST put together that Penelope and Pip is now Love from a Ginger! I’m a little slow on the uptake this week :) Your new site is adorable, congrats!
