School ended here last week, and even though I don’t have any official connection with school kids these days, today still kinda feels like the first day of summer.
The last few months have gone by so fast, and I’m afraid that this season, my favorite season, will be gone in a blink. I’ve been making a mental list over the last few weeks of things I want to do this summer. Not for business or personal development, but for fun. A novel concept, isn’t it?
Summer Bucket List
- Go to a Nationals game (I’ve never been, even though we live less than an hour away!)
- Watch the fireworks downtown (never done this either!)
- Go to a winery
- Go to the zoo
- Finally use the gift card I’ve been saving at a local brewery
- Go to the pool (at least) once a week
- Read a book or two (for fun. It’s been a really long time!)
- Go on more ice cream dates
- Make fancy cocktails, just because
- Do something fun for our anniversary in August
What about you? What’s on your bucket list for this summer?
Hey Kate! I recommend the Winery @ Bull Run. It sits on a battlefield and has lots of history :) On my bucket list…climb the Washington Monument! I’ve lived here for 20+ years and have NEVER done it!
Thanks for the recommendation, I’ve never been there! And I’ve never done that either, so you’re not the only one :) I’ve also never been to Mount Vernon- I almost put that on my list, but decided that might be a better fall activity!
What a great summer list! Baseball games are essential for summer. Enjoy your first game!
Thanks, it sounds like a lot of fun!
Have any books in mind? I’ve been reading “Glitter & Glue” by Kelly Corrigan. Pretty good so far.
I think my husband and I are going to try our luck in the batting cage this summer. Never tried it but looking forward to it. We climbed a lighthouse this past weekend and that was a blast.
Ice cream dates sound awesome. Great idea. :)
I don’t have a list going at all, so that helps a lot! And ice cream dates are my fave because 1) ice cream is obviously delicious, and 2) it’s way cheaper than going out to dinner, so you can do it more often :)
Wow! I never even thought of that! It IS way cheaper than going out to dinner. Hooray.
let me know if you want a Nats buddy :)
I love your bucket list! I want to go tubing down the river before the end of the summer!
