Today’s launch is another one that has been in the works for a while now! I’m so excited to finally share Camila’s colorful site and blog overhaul. This project actually stemmed from the first moodboard I ever shared on my blog- it’s always fun to look back at where we started!

Since the website and blog are set up separately (with two unique WordPress themes) there were a lot of different elements going on, but I’m excited about how it all came together. It’s tough to pick a favorite page (there are a lot!) and I love how the portfolio turned out, but I think I have to go with her Little Black Book page- creating that graphic was so much fun! Camila has great taste, make sure you check out the rest of her new site!

Faison Anne

Today’s blog design comes along with a little history lesson. I met Faison way back when I first started (really using) my first blog, some time in 2011. We were both right out of college, and our blogs were about weddings, personal style, newlywed stuff… pretty much whatever we were into at the moment! It was a really fun time for me in blogging- it was something totally new to me and I loved connecting with other bloggers. Faison was one of the first bloggers that I connected with online.

Fast forward a few years and blogging has changed a lot on the whole, our lives look a lot different than they did back then, but we’ve both forged creative careers that kinda got their start in those early blog days. Faison is a photographer, and I have my web design business. It’s so funny to think back on how things turned out- I never would have thought I’d be doing what I do now when I created my little Blogger blog back in the day.

Here’s the cool thing: a while back, Faison hired me to design a new personal blog for her. I think it’s awesome that she’s starting fresh! I’ve been in a(n admittedly long) season of finishing web projects so writing has been on the back burner, but I’ve definitely been feeling the itch lately, so I love that she’s launching a new blog right now!

We started off with this colorful moodboard, and the rest just went from there!

We went pretty simple on her about page, and I love how it turned out! Faison takes great photos, so it was fun to design something that really lets you focus on her work. Make sure you check out the new blog for yourself!

The Welcoming District

Most of my clients don’t live locally- location flexibility is one of the cool things about web design. However, when someone in my vicinity finds me online and we work together, it feels like a special coincidence. But when they’re starting a company based on gifts that are sourced locally? Well, even better!

The Welcoming District is a company that creates gift boxes with locally sourced products from the Washington D.C. area. Alicia, the founder, has a background in floral design, so she has a fabulous eye for what makes a pretty package and includes fresh flowers. So naturally, when she reached out to me, I was pumped! She had her lovely branding done by Emily Baird (another funny coincidence!) and then we hit the ground running with her website! I’m really excited about the end result.

Go check it out for yourself! I love how her about page turned out- she had her photos done by Erin Scott, and I love all the color they add to that page, and the whole site overall! I had so much fun with this project, thanks for letting me be a part of it, Alicia!

Swoon Interiors

This one has been a long time in the making! I’m so excited to share this launch with you guys. I started working with Amy in 2013- we created this dreamy moodboard for her project. We got to a certain point, and then took a pretty intentional break while Amy and her partner, Kristy, had some of their projects photographed to have a more robust portfolio.

Well, it was worth the wait! Amy and Kristy do such beautiful work, and their lovely photographs (from My Ellabelle Photography) turned out splendidly and really completed the site.
