Fraser & Parsley 2.0

Whoa, it’s been a while! I’ve been hard at work on this site (and a few others) and I’m so excited to finally show you guys this redesign! I collaborated with Whitney and Emily on the first Fraser & Parsley site a little over two years ago. We set up their first site to be predominantly on WordPress, with the ecommerce features on Shopify*.

Earlier this year Josie and I started chatting about redesigning her site to be entirely on Shopify. Based on their blogging needs, it just made sense for them to be all on one dashboard. She also wanted the new site to be responsive, and to have a few other features to help customers visualize their customized stationery.

I always love working with clients for the second time – it’s really nice to take a brand that you are so familiar with and start fresh on an updated look for a site. We went for a cleaner, simpler look this time around, and I think it really highlights their products. Josie and Rachel are just the sweetest, and we worked great together throughout despite our 6 hour time difference! Two posts in one week… whaaaaaaat?! I can’t wait to share this project with you guys today, it’s definitely one of my favorite branding projects to date. Heather and Tiffany are sisters who sell a really fun line of personalized stationery. They have a preppy style with bright colors, and were looking for a brand upgrade and to move their Etsy shop to Shopify*. We started with their branding first, and then moved on to build their theme for their shop.

For their branding, they knew they wanted to stick with the “doe” theme in their logo. They had a single doe in their previous logo, which they felt they had outgrown. Working on this illustration really pushed me from a design perspective, and while it was challenging, I’m really proud of what we wound up with!

I love the story behind this brand, so the about page is definitely my favorite! I had so much fun working on this project, make sure you check out the new site (and their beautiful stationery!) for yourself!

I’m thrilled to share this project with you guys today! I don’t always share my development work on the blog, but this one is special. Shayla and I met through blogging and social media a while ago, and when we realized we lived about 15 minutes apart, we decided to meet up for coffee! It’s been so great getting to know her and her business, so I was super pumped when she asked me to develop her website. I knew her design would be beautiful, and it didn’t disappoint!

This project is also a little different than my usual work because it’s a Shopify site. I don’t take on many ecommerce projects, but I’ve really fallen in love with this platform. If you’re hoping to build an online store, I totally recommend that you check it out!

I love her whimsical style of hand lettering and illustration, and the humor behind a lot of her products (like this one.) Her cards are so cool! And do you want to hear a funny story? When we were getting ready for my friend’s wedding at the beginning of July, the photographer came in and was talking about getting a shot of the bride reading the card her fiancé had written her before the wedding. I turned around and it was this card, which is especially weird because I’d just finished doing the bulk of my work on the site that week and this was the card that I usually clicked on to develop the individual product page. It kinda blew my mind, so of course I tweeted a picture to Shayla! The internet definitely makes our world smaller. I dig it.

I’m so excited to share this project with you guys today! You might recall that Whitney and I took decided to collaborate at the beginning of the year and took on some clients looking for a complete brand and website overhaul. This is the first of those projects to come to completion, and I couldn’t be more excited about the result!

Fraser and Parsley is a bespoke stationery company from the UK run by two lovely ladies, Josie and Rachel. Their project expanded past the usual WordPress site as they needed a large eCommerce site to house their extensive line of stationery. After going back and forth, we decided that Shopify (that’s my affiliate link) would be the best fit for their needs.

This was my first Shopify site, and I must say that I’m a fan! For me, the main challenge of this project was getting the WordPress and Shopify sites to integrate as seamlessly as possible. Luckily both platforms were really fun to work with and we were all really happy with the end result.

I feel so lucky to have worked with so many talented ladies on this project. Emily McCarthy designed the logo, and Josie’s sister Isobel did the illustrations on the site as she also does them on the stationery line- isn’t that fun?
