I wanted to recap our family vacation like I did last year, only much shorter. This year was probably the lamest year ever in terms of picture taking. But I think that just means that I was really focused on relaxing. That’s a good thing, right?
We take this vacation every year, and it was relaxing and fun as usual. Since Brian took the bar this year, he wasn’t able to come until late Wednesday night. It rained on Thursday, and we went in search of pizza and calzones and wound up visiting Jockey’s Ridge for the first time and getting ice cream to top it all off.
The rest of our days were spent between the beach and the pool and just hanging out in our house. I read The Forgotten Garden all week, which I loved. As in I now want to read all of Kate Morton’s books. Have you ever read any of them? I’d love to hear what you think! I love getting recommendations.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE KATE MORTON! I’ve read all of her books (The House at Riverton, The Forgotten Garden, The Distant Hours, and her latest The Secret Keeper). For me personally The House at Riverton was my favourite, so if you haven’t read that one yet I would seriously recommend that as your next read.

It looks like a lovely vacation!
whoa there, check out your abs! ;) this vacation looks fantastic – that beach is so pretty! and I’m definitely going to have to look into Kate Morton now!
Psshhh yeah right :) I think that is an optical illusion because of the way I was sitting when I tanned, haha! Do it, I can’t wait to read more of her stuff!
How pretty! I haven’t been to the beach since May 2011 and I’m dying to return! I live about an hour from the coast here in Texas but apparently the beach leaves much to be desired here.
Looks like a productive beach getaway!!! Glad to hear the book was a good read. I am headed to Puerto Rico in a few weeks and think that this book may make the list!
love your blog! now following!
